Fire Pack-Out

What does your company do?

  • Determine which items will most likely clean
  • Create a digital inventory of those items
  • Pack and move out those items and bring them back to our facility to clean and deodorize
  • Store those items in vaults or containers until the structural repairs are complete.

What should I do?

  • Remove valuables like jewelry and cash and place them in sealed bags.  Retail jewelers will clean you jewelry. Contaminated cash can be exchanged at your bank.
  • Identify other valuables and sentimental items with you project manager to see that all items are taken care of properly and professionally.
  • Designate enough clothing to last two weeks for immediate cleaning.
  • Compile a non-salvageable inventory.  Items remaining in the home after completion of the “packout” need to be inventoried with the approximate age and cost of each item and sent to your claim representative.  They should have pre-printed forms for you to fill out.  This is part of your claim.

What should I NOT do?

  • Do not take contaminated contents back to your car or temporary residence.  These items carry odor and soot with them everywhere they go and can cause further damage.
  • Do not attempt to clean contaminated contents or structure by yourself.  If you need something now, contact your project manager to have rush items cleaned and deodorized in advance.

Where does my personal property go?

  • Our business office and restoration facility are located at 6565 E. 42nd St in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • We use storage vaults or containers within our 20,000 sf facility to store your items.
  • Our facility is divided into storage areas being climate controlled and protected from the elements.
  • We also use security cameras within our facility and have it monitored by a professional security company.
    • If you are thinking of using someone else, we strongly encourage you to visit their facility and ours for a tour.  Understanding the complete content restoration process of each company will help you make a more confident decision about who you choose to care for your belongings.   Appointments are necessary to ensure that proper staffing can give you a tour.

How do I know what items you have?

  • Using a bar-coding system, we will inventory and photograph each and every item.
  • We use the bar-codes to track each item from the time it is loaded on the truck to the time it is moved back into your home.
  • We will provide you a detailed inventory of your personal property in our possession.

When will my personal items be ready?

  • We clean upholstery and electronics  at the beginning of the claim.
  • The boxed items are cleaned based on when your house will be ready.
  • We encourage communication between your contractor, our company and you as to the status of your structural repairs.
  • We need a 4-weeks-to-completion notice to ensure timely completion of personal property.

What if I need something sooner?

  • You will be asked to gather any items that you may need for immediate use.  We will label these items “Rush”.
  • We will have our technicians begin the process as soon as items are back at the warehouse.
  • Please allow 2 days to 1 week for “rush” cleaning and deodorization.

What if I forget something?

  • We will be happy to retrieve individual items from the storage vaults at any point during the restoration process.
  • Because it is very time-consuming and labor-intensive, there will be an additional charge to cover that cost.  This charge is generally not covered by your insurance.
  • Cost-effectiveness is determined by the number of items needed and the urgency of their need.

What about my clothes?

  • Select enough “Rush” clothing to last 2 weeks.
  • We will pick up drapes, linens, and clothing. These items will be professionally dry-cleaned, laundered, and deodorized.
  • You may schedule a time to come in and pick out any items needed before your move back.  We will store the rest until your home is ready.

How do you move back my personal property?

  • We will place large content items where you designate
  • We will move the boxes into the rooms from which they were packed.
  • You will have to unpack your boxes unless approval has been granted by your insurance company
  • Non-salvageable items will be returned to you unless previous arrangements have been made for disposal.

What guarantee do you give?

  • We cannot guarantee that everything we take will clean.
  • We guarantee to clean and deodorize to the best of our ability based on our experience with fires of like kind to yours and industry specific training.
  • Upon completion of cleaning major pieces, we invite you to come and look at these items to ensure satisfaction before they are moved back.
  • If an item does not clean, this item may be placed on your non-salvageable list.

Abandoned Property Clause

  • Any contents left unclaimed at our facility for a period of 30 days without arrangements being made will be considered “abandoned”.
  • Abandoned property will be salvaged or disposed of at our discretion.
  • Storage charges will cease at this time.
